15 Volt – 15 Amp electroplating rectifier unit with unique timer function to ensure perfect repeatability of application. Comes compete with all chemical solutions (cleaning, copper, nickel, gold), required accessories (anode wands, connecting wires, graphite plating tips, and more), and an instructional manual adapted for jewelry work from industrial plating procedures for which the machine was developed. This machine measures about 10″ x 12″ and was used by a local industrial plating firm in Laurel, MD. It has been checked out by Bill Hawkins and myself, inspected for operability and is kitted out completely as indicated.
When sold new, this machine was priced at more than $1,000 and the solutions and accessories were sold separately. This machine uses the “brush-plating” method rather than the tank plating method although the anodes can be used in that mode as well. Brush-plating delivers a more durable finish as the plating material is deposited directly onto the work surface by the anode tip rather than being passively transferred by the anodes through the solution in a tank.
