DATE CHANGE: Intro to Lost Wax Casting Now 10&11 April and 17&18 April

Date: April 10th and 11th, and April 17th and 18th, beginning at 8:30 AM (all day)
Location: PLG workshop, 169 Defense Highway (lower level) Annapolis, MD.
Description: Basic Lost Wax Casting introduces students to the equipment and tools used in the process of creating wax patterns and the process of actually casting three projects. At the end of this course, a student should be confident enough to create their own wax patterns and know how to use the casting equipment. Students who are members of the PLG will then be allowed to use the Guild equipment during open shop nights to create their own designs and cast them in silver or gold. Students will also be introduced to methods of creating jewelry art pieces, beyond just the basics, as time permits.
Fees: $130.00 member, $150.00 non-member; a materials fee of $25.00 covers up to one ounce of Argentium sterling silver (enough to complete all projects in the course), investment used for casting the projects, and waxes used WILL BE WAIVED FOR THIS CLASS.
Requirements: Students should bring an optivisor if they have one. Knowledge of smithing is not required, but is helpful.
