With the rush of heading back to work and preparing for this year’s students, there hasn’t been a lot of time to play in the studio or shop for treasures. I did sneak in a road trip or two before heading back to the real world, however, including a fun day at Lucketts and Leesburg, [...] With the start of school looming ever closer, my daughter and I decided to have a “Girls’ Day In” and spend some time working together on sewing projects in my studio. The Goddess in Training has been doing some sort of needlework since she could sit up and hold a needle and had recently been [...] I am very much drawn to the textures of different materials and objects. I love the way old fabrics, trims, papers and jewelry feel. You can really sense their histories by touching and imagining who else may have held them. Here are some of the textures surrounding me in my studio today…..
