Altered Spoons with Friends

On Monday I had the fantastic experience of introducing some of my friends at work to the wonderful world of mixed media collage.

Even my principal got into the spirit! I keep thinking Dr. Who when I see this!

Using this altered spoon tutorial as a starting point, my enthusiastic group of “students” spent [...]

On the Studio Table Today

So let’s just come right out and say that Pinterest is an amazing source of inspiration.  No matter what your interests, you are sure to find all sorts of ideas and images to get the creative juices flowing.  I had found a picture of altered spoons a while back, which led me to a tutorial [...]

Warm Wishes

Isn’t this little fellow just the cutest guy ever?  I just adore his over-sized, fuzzy coat!

No snow here yet in Maryland, but the weather has finally started turning chilly.  We are wrapping up the final days of school before the holiday break.  All my little friends (and some big ones!) have been [...]

Just back from the most wonderful and inspiring event in California – Spellbound-with the ever elegant mother and daughter team of Debbie Murray and Shea Fragoso of A Gilded Life.  This is the first event of theirs I have ever attended, however it most certainly will not be the last!  From the Welcome [...]

Great Books to Encourage Art (and Writing)!

I started off the year with a commitment to become more healthy, and thanks to dear friend Robin R.who provided constant encouragement, and the support and [...]

In The Works

Last year at Silver Bella I was lucky enough to take a class with the tremendously talented Sally Jean Alexander, where I learned the (very) basics of soldering to make jewelry.  My sweet hubby gifted me with all sort of supplies, and so all I needed was some time (and courage!) to try [...]

Inspired by Online Workshops, E-Zines and Lifestyle Gazettes

Creative inspiration abound this month on-line and I am taking advantage of it all!  I’ve been perusing the  holiday issue of Heather Bullard’s  “Souvenir” – an online lifestyle gazette.  Contributors for this issue include Pam Garrison, Hope Wallace and Amy Hanna featuring wonderful holiday decorative and gift ideas.

Next up – [...]

California Dreamin’ Part 3 – The Rejuvinated Jewels Workshop

photograph by Jenny Doh

The purpose behind this wonderful West Coast adventure was to attend a jewelry workshop by my hero, Amy Hanna, hostessed at the amazing home of the incredibly  talented Jenny Doh.  I was too involved in the fun to take many photos, but here are a few.
